The students of Kamehameha Schools held the 98th Annual Song Contest, this past Friday, March 16, @ the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall in Honolulu, Hawaii.
This year’s Song Contest, “I Ho’okahi Ka Mana’o: 100 Years of Hawaiian Civic Clubs,” celebrates a significant milestone for Native Hawaiian advocacy and civic engagement. Through the Song Contest’s rich tradition of Choral Hawaiian music, the program features special songs from the Civic Clubs that advocate for the betterment of Native Hawaiians and continue to preserve and perpetuate cultural traditions — including language, history, music and dance.
