ALOHA NOT FOR SALE! For generations the aloha spirit that our beloved Hawaiian Islands perpetuate have been taken advantage of and used for outsiders gain, today is no different. In the beautiful windy city of Chicago a food establishment going by the name of “Aloha Poke Co.” has put in motion a very disrespectful, down right dirty Cease & Desist campaign against any and all Food establishments using the words “Aloha” & “Poke” in their trade name. Let’s go over the facts. “Aloha Poke Co.” is not a Hawai’i based establishment nor has it started it’s roots here on the islands. “Aloha Poke Co.” also has no knowledge of what the word “Aloha” means or comes from, or where “Poke” comes from for that matter. Their main location in Chicago does not employ any Native Hawaiians or show any respect or homage for the Hawaiian culture they are so willingly benefiting off of.
We are taking a stand using our platform to let the world know ALOHA IS NOT FOR SALE. Defend Hawai’i is a movement all of Hawai’i is a part of. No matter how small the matter may be, no matter how big the situations get, we as Hawaiians by blood or Hawaiians by birth are here to Defend Hawai’i.
Bringing back our “Aloha NSF” design we released a few years ago seems to fit in perfectly with the situations we face today just as it did two years ago. Along with the popular Aloha By The pound template revamped to fit the message “ALOHA IS NOT FOR SALE”.
Let’s support locals that live by and understand the values of Hawaiian culture. Fresh Catch bound! I need some real Hawaiian POKE served with real ALOHA.
