July’s UFC Fight Night 90 event has a new bantamweight matchup.
UFC Fight Night 90 takes place July 7 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The card airs on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Doane, who won a number of regional titles earlier in his career, signed with the UFC for a 2014 debut and picked up a “Submission of the Night” win over Leandro Issa and a split-decision victory over Marcus Brimage in his first two appearances. However, the 28-year-old Hawaiian has since suffered back-to-back decision losses to Iuri Alcantara and Jerrod Sanders.
He now meets Munhoz, a former RFA champion who suffered a decision defeat to standout Raphael Assuncao in his UFC debut before rebounding with a TKO victory over Matt Hobar. Since then, though, the 29-year-old Brazilian has seen mixed results with a no-contest against Sanders (due to Munhoz’s failed drug test) and a split-decision defeat to Jimmie Rivera.
