Hawaiians in Rio! #Olympics

In the early stages of Olympic games in Rio it seemed unsure the U.S. men’s volleyball team wouldn’t even make it out of group play.
Tonight, team USA, including three members from right here in Hawaii, defeated the reigning Olympic champions from Russia to earn the bronze medal.

Local products, Erik and Kawika Shoji, and Micah Christenson are now officially Olympic medal winners. But, it wasn’t easy getting there. The U.S. dropped the first two sets in their match against Russia, but fought back from the brink to win it in five and earn their place on the podium.

Christenson had two kills and five digs in that match. Erik Shoji led the U.S. with nine digs. – Hawaii News Now
